Notice of Rate Increase

Why rates are going up

Three things are driving this increase: aging infrastructure, growth, and rising prices.

Much of the system is getting older. Pumps, tanks, lines, and controls wear out whether we want them to or not. Over the next five years Diana SUD plans about $2 million in upgrades so we can keep reliable pressure and protect water quality.

The district is also growing. More homes and more demand mean the same pipes and plants have to work harder. Growth does not pay for itself unless rates keep up with the cost of serving new and existing customers.

On top of that, the cost of doing the work keeps climbing — electricity, treatment chemicals, pipe, equipment, and labor. Diana SUD does not collect taxes. Rates are how we pay the bills and fund the upgrades.

The January 1, 2027 path spreads that cost over three years instead of one large jump.
